what are some free roaming or sandbox type games. note not gta 4 i no thats a big one and all but im looking for something elseSandbox Game?

Oblivion, Crackdown and Assassin's Creed are a few that spring to mind, and give a nice variety of settings, time period, weapons and story

What about Mass Effect, it's kind of a sand box game. Or Dead Rising that's a zombie sand box game.
Mercenaries 2 comes out in like a week or 2.

errh... and what makes Call of Juarez 2 a sandbox game?
i would suggest mercenaries 2. got bad reviews. but i loved it. especially with all the awesome cheats. i think its a huge underrated game.
Try: Prototype, Saints Row 1 %26 2, Mercenaries 2, Wheelman, Red Dead Redemption (when it's released this fall), FarCry 2, Red Faction Guerrilla, Fable II, Bully (to a lesser extent), Crackdown, Mass Effect.
Bully is amazing. Mercs 2 is well worth 20 bucks,
