Which Type Of Achievements do You prefer ...

Ones that you get for beating a level or such? Or Ones that takes skill/talent/luck?
Such as, Ones for Advancing, or ones like Cr0wned in L4D?
I like the later ones :)Which Type Of Achievements do You prefer ...
As long as they are single player and actually obtainable...I hate MP achievements... they take a lot of fun out of the game for me...Which Type Of Achievements do You prefer ...
As long as they are single player and actually obtainable...I hate MP achievements... they take a lot of fun out of the game for me...
^ This is it for me exactly. As long as they are SP and not completely retarded to the point where you want to take the game disc to the shooting range. AKA why I will never get past 855/1000 on The Orange Box.
As long as they are single player and actually obtainable...I hate MP achievements... they take a lot of fun out of the game for me...
I agree too. Like K and L : Dead Men.Most of the achievements are for MP. and there is only like one Co-Op D:
to me? the best kind of achivements are the ones u unlock by just playing the game like Fallout 3/Oblivion achivements. also i liked RE5 achivements. they were easy and fun to get.
Ones that are somewhat easy, fun, and not frustrating to get. If there are MP achievements, make them natural one, such as get X kills, obtain X rank, not ones that are specific where you can tell that a person is trying to get it in a game.
Any that are fun and don't take to long to get (So not 100,000 kills in GeOW 2, for example)
i like the random ones, for doing things i didnt even try to do. i dont care about gamerscore, so i dont care about an achievement at the end of each level. but its always cool egtting recognition for something unique you did.
Single Player as long as they aren't kill X enemies like GOW 2
I like variety. I like ones at the end of the levels. I also like ones for beating a game on harder difficulties. Co-op ones are cool, and ones like the horde ones on gears2, but aside from ones like that, I despise MP ones.EDIT: oh and random silly stuff, like in fable 2, where you get one for killing a rabbit, I wasn't expecting that LoL.
I like online ones.Ones for killing so many people with a specific weapon.. ect.I also like the ones for beating levels on the hardest difficulty.
Mostly the ones for beating levels and progressing through the game, and for multiplayer, like killing enemies so many enemies with a certain weapon, or a killing spree (Halo)
I hate achievements that require other players to help. Single player achievements are the best, most fun achievements I think were on Fable II. I just wish CoD4 had multiplayer achievements though :(
AS long as it's not Multi-player or frustration, or beyond rediculous, I don't mind what it requires.
I like a lot of the single player achievements such as Oblivion or Mass Effect. I like some of the clever achievements, but some achievements are just downright ridiculous. I absolutely detest multiplayer achievements. If you don't have a gold xbox live account, you simply won't get those achievements! Most of my missing achievements come from multiplayer achievements. For example, the ONLY achievements I'm missing from FEAR 2, GTA 4, Halo 3, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Virtua Tennis, and Soulcalibur 4 are multiplayer achievements. Furthermore, what if the online community for a game is completely dead like FEAR Files or Turok? You simply can't obtain them no matter how hard you try.
any achievement that isnt in MP or based on collecting everything in a game
Here's my views on how achievements should be done

1. All in single player; when you put achievements in online multiplayer, they already have a shelf-life that expires when the community is dead

2. Have completion achievements for finishing levels/side quests/main quests, whatever

3. Have achievements that encourage you to try things you might not have otherwise known about, like how fallout 3 has an achievement for reverse-pickpocketing a live grenade into the pants of an unsuspecting victim

4. Avoid putting in unreasonably difficult and/or time consuming achievements, I mean come on am I really going to play a game long enough to get 100,000 kills?
Anything single player.. I hate MP achievements because they ruin the game and there is always a bunch of idiots boosting.

Too bad the people that make up these achievements don't have the same mindset as you do. Those are the way achievements should be like. Well put.
I really liked the achievements for Fallout 3 and OblivionThey reward you for taking part in all of the side questswhich everyone already does in the first place though, so they are easy to get but still really fun
