Hey everyone, somethings been bothering me and my freind about Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries. We play a whole bunch and think of ourselves as pretty good at the game. We decided to start and try to get higher on the leaderbords for Mercenaries but we've encountered a slight problem...HOW DID PEOPLE GET SO MUCH POINTS? :)The most I've ever gotten was 216,226 on the Mines (currently ranked 854 in the world at the time of this post) which is absolutely dismal compared to ethe people higher than us. Looking at the top people in the world they have points ranging up to about 750,000! That is absolutely insane. Me and my buddies highest combo ever was 123 and we still didnt even break 200,000?!? I looked at the leaderbordes and some people around the 750,000 mark only have a high combo of about 70? Now that makes no sense to us. We even go for melee moves to get the slight extra points and go for the chickens AND go for the combo bonus chests.I'm sorry for the slight ramble but we're just very confused...Are we missing something HUGE that makes the apprximate 500,000 score difference that we're seeing, even though we get high combos? Any information is helpful and just remember, keep killing those zombies!!Thanks.Resident Evil 5 : Mercenaries
Well most of them are from Japan, that says something. But uh I wonder how they get that many points too...Resident Evil 5 : Mercenaries
possibly some sort of glitching? I dunno. I do know that Cal of Duty's nazi zombies leaderboards are complete bull though. People glitch to get to level 3000+ but what's the point. It just proves that you can use a glitch to get farther than others. Ruins the leaderboards for me completely.
Maybe because they're good. Japanese people have dignity in video games.
they are called japanese ppl, their good at games
its gotta be glitching, everytime ive encountered Japanese players online they have been no better or worse than those from other parts of the world, dominating them on Lost Planet comes to mind, and i was not the greatest at that multi.
Thanks for those of you who've posted so far, this queston is just really bothering me.But no as for them just being ''Japanese'' that means nothing. I've done the math and it's physically impossible to get some of the scores they are getting unless I'm missing some HUGE. But yeah glitching does seem like the answer as of now, and yeah I agree with you on the CoD leaderboreds they are retarded. But please if someone has any tips or answers lemme know!
Quickly kill as many enemies as possible with melee attacks. Each melee kill gives you a five second bonus. You're looking adding a potential 12.5 minutes to the clock (if all of your 150 kills were melee ones), not counting the time bonuses scattered around the stages. Each second you have left on the clock after killing all enemies will give you 1000 points, and those quickly add up. If you do that, while at the same time maintaining a high combo, you can get an obscenely high score.

*points at Wesker* THERE'S YOUR GLITCHING!
Melee kills give +5 seconds. Wesker's ''headshot'' melee attack is an instant kill, and it can hit more than one enemy at a time. People usually get this insane score using Wesker's midnight clothing (the one he uses in the story mode).
Another thing, learn to manipulate your inventory like an insane madman. I've seen these guys playing, they never reload their weapons, when their character is doing an animation (meleeing an enemy, climbing a ladder...), they quickly open up their inventory and combine the ammo with the gun, instantly reloading, and saving precious seconds. Since you'll be meleeing most of the time with wesker, you can use this trick to keep your weapons always full, discard items and heal yourself in a blink of an eye.
That's all I can tell you man =)
Jill(BSAA) also has the double knee drop which is a intakill.
Its called clearing levels people. There are only 150 enimes on each level. You have to kill the majority of enimes with +5 kills plus kill everything to gety high scores. Im speaking as someone that has cleared several levels and at best was 433 in the world on Ruins. Still the skill level between me and japanese players is massive. Its all about routes that ensure you kill all the enimes in the quickest time possible
U can probably see these people's names in the credits.... :D
