Important question about halo 3

ok, when i play halo 3 online i do it through matchmaking lone wolves, and it always gives a random game and map, is there a way to pick your own map and game and have people join the game you pick? any1 can give me the steps to do this, i dont have much friends on XBL cus i recently got an xbox,Important question about halo 3

I believe the only way to do so is, hosting a a game and inviting your friends to play it.
wow that effin sucks ass, whats the point of downloading the extra maps if u get the same 3 levels all the damn time, wtffffffffffffff, is there a way to host a game and have any random people join/???
I think only friends will be able to join you.
You can do so in Custom Games, but you can only play with your friends then.

OMG the only way is custom games when you can select your own map and own settings but most people like playing zombies speaking for my self i could be wrong and team slayer
those asswipes couldnt add that feature? the simple feature of voting for what level you can pick? even mario kart for the ds has that when u play online

lol do u mean out of a selection or every single map? cause then people would chose the same maps over and over and you would get less of a variety. its a terrible idea because people would chose gametypes and maps where they are best and only play them to boost kills and stats
