I actually bought LO a few days ago on amazon, and it should be arriving soon. I was just curious as to what others think of it. I like well made jrpgs, even if they are pretty formulatic like most people complain about it.. What do you guys think about it?Lost Odyssey, your thoughts?
Its good, but far from the best. In my opinion Tales of Vesperia is the best in the plataform.Lost Odyssey, your thoughts?
Its a truly great JAPENESE TURN BASED rpg. If the bits in bold dont bother you then your gonna have a hoot.

Dude Tales isn't turn-based, it is action RPG. So yeah you really can't compare it. -__-
Very good overall game, Kaim is actually a really cool character and breaks away from traditional jrpg protagonist stereotypes; he's not some whiny metrosexual teenager. My only big complaint with the game is that the load times are godawful, it literally takes an entire minute for a battle to load and start, and with random encounters this gets quite annoying. Other than that, great game.
It is ok. If you like your traditional JRPG and I mean traditional, then you will like it. The story is what you would expect from the genre. Hopefully you didn't pay full price like I did. Even though Tales of Vesperia is an action RPG, that is the best JRPG on the system. I am not saying that because I don't like JRPG's. I have played them all FF1-10. Star Ocean 1 and Second Story, Chrono Trigger, Saga Frontier. It's an ok RPG. The graphics are good but the game chugs and has technical issues. The battle fields are rather bland despite looking clean. The Voice acting is what you would expect from Anime.
It's a pretty good game. I still like Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata better, but LO is still a fine game worthy of a play through.
A very interesting and long JRPG. The story isnt the greatest but its told really well and the characters are extremely interesting.
But yeah, Tales of Vesperia is THE JRPG to have on the 360.

If your looking for a game thats like Final Fantasy X then you'll like Lost Odyssey. If not, too bad.

Yeah, you can. Just because two game aren't exactly the same doesn't mean you can't compare them. Thats the exact reason you would compare them, because they aren't the same.
I'm playing it now. Has a mature story with some twists. Unfortunately it still has stupid JRPG humor and a few stereotypical JRPG characters. I'm enjoying the game overall.
I like the formulaic combat. Grandia III is the only JRPG with combat that I like better than the standard turn based stuff.
I've heard nothing but good things about Tales of Vesperia, but the demo's hokey dialogue pushed me towards Lost Odyssey.
Im actually planning on getting this soon as well. My friend let me borrow it a while ago but didnt really play it enough before he asked for it back.
fun while it lasted. i enjoyed the first 2 disc. i felt the connection with the characters.but towards the end. it felt like a chore to continue playing.so i still havent finished it. im on disc 4 and its been awhile since i touched the game
Amazing RPG that is up there with The Witcher on PC as the best RPG of this generation imo.Amazing story, the writing in the poems/letters/stories from the main character are fantastic, fun combat and a high fun factor!Highly underrated imo!Gamespot game it a 7/10 or something but I personally gave it a 9 or 9.5/10.In the end? Awesome rpg!:DOther good jrpgs on the 360 = Tales Of Vesperia, Last Remnant, Eternal Sonata and Star Ocean.

The game is excellent. Amazing story and fun battles. Level grinding in this game isn't as tedious as in The Last Remnant. Not a lot of side quests but a good amount. This is one of those games where I actually don't want to skip the cutscenes.
Its a really good game, you should enjoy it.
I personally haven't beaten it either, but I will by the end of summer (hopefully). Im on the last disc and (unfortunatly) it does seem to be almost a chore. However it is still very awesome and one of the best 360 games I've played (and I'm not really into turn-based RPG's). Also I have the guide book and it's very useful. It tells you hints and some locations of items, however it doesn't feel like it's playing the game for you-very nice strategy guide and I consider buying it. Hope you enjoy the game! :)
If LO was a final fantasy game it would be the best one.
