It's one of my favorite games and yes it is very underrated.

I had it, but never opened the game and returned it for Forza 2 CE.
Thisgame was GREATLYunder-appreciated. I loved it. I think it didn't do so well because the multiplayer was lackluster, but I remember The Darkness as being one of the best single-playerexperiences of its time. And even now, it still holds up. It was so fun, the graphics were impressive, there were awesome ideas that worked well. The only part I didn't like was the**SPOILERS** flashback part**END SPOILERS**Besides that, this was atrulyamazing game. This game, Quake 4 and Prey were all underrated games because of their multiplayer. All three had great single-player experiences and I highly recommend all of em.
It's a great game for its time, haven't played it in ages though.
I loved it. The brutality, the story, the awesome mechanics and Mike Patton as a voice actor. AWESOME.
I really enjoyed the game but the multiplayer was terrible.
Yeah it was a good game. Kinda made me want to get into the Darkness and Witchblade comics, same universe and all. But then I realized that gaming was bas enough on my social life and I didn't need something else. XDAlthough I did get 12 or so episodes into the Witchblade anime series. But it's just a spin off full of T'n'A lol.
I bought it, played it for a bit, and promptly sold it. If it's supposed to be a first person shooter, the controls are pretty horrible. I couldn't get into the story and I hated the character you play as. I imagine if I were a prepubescent goth kid I might have enjoyed it more.

Wow.

Someone has big balls behind his computer screen.
Yeah I've got to say that I only have fond memories of this game, I think I played through it a good four or five times. Gotta say I loved the Black Hole ability.

I half expected him to pull out some black nail polish and start doing his nails. And then he committed suicide because they killed his girlfriend? Boo hoo. I found the whole concept too childish and ''teen angst'' for my taste. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the game came packaged with a Marilyn Manson CD. It was stylish, I'll give it that. But in my opinion it failed at having solid gameplay and a good story. If you get worked up over a stranger's negative opinion of a game I wonder what will happen to you when you start facing some real challenges in your life.

Clearly you know everything about me and my life. Real challenges? Try Iraq. Then talk to me about real challenges.

I'd like to know what video game stories you love so I can see what concept isn't childish and full of ''teen angst.'' Also so I can see what a ''good'' story is by your standards, because the story in this game is well above average, opinion or not it's still better than many games can muster up.
great game... very underated. i played it and blew me away. very fun.

You play games to facing real challenge in your life ?I just play them for fun .And also you doent say an example for serious gamesthat you play , 007 ?
It was very fun, but the scores were right. With lame multiplayer, and for me not very replayable story. it is a great game but 8.5 is about right for it IMO.

8.5 is a great score...

Yeah I picked this game up after always seeing it in the bargain bin and thinking ''Nah, it must be rubbish...'' but then just had some spare change in my pocket so picked it up dirt cheap, and loved it. Was very surprised at how good it was. Very original. Had a great atmosphere about it.

To ''murderer'', I'll bet you think Gears of War had a mature main character/story...
